Occupational Therapy

At GHLA, Occupational Therapists (OTs) help students participate in learning and play by supporting specific skill development, and by addressing barriers within the environment or the task. OTs may help students with self-help skills, fine motor skills, executive functioning skills, emotional regulation, sensory processing and interoceptive awareness. They also help students access and use adaptive equipment as necessary, and provide vocational or transition support.

Support is provided through direct 1:1 sessions (push-in, outside of the classroom, etc), small groups, staff consultation and coaching, and universal strategies, in order to flexibly and effectively meet the needs of students.
