Since 1991, the Variety Learning Centre has served countless special needs children. Seventeen years ago, in response to parents, Greater Heights Learning Academy, a full time, year-round facility opened. Almost 100 children with Autism, special needs and other challenges, are receiving the necessary, interventions and teaching that would be impossible elsewhere. Therapies include speech-language therapy, occupational and physiotherapy, as well as counselling, vision and much more. However, the costs attached to these specialized therapies and interventions are considerable.
To help these special needs children the MLE Training & Research Society, a registered charity which operates the Variety Learning Centre and Greater Heights Learning Academy, hosts an annual online auction.
Participants in the auction have the opportunity to bid on a wide array of items generously donated by sponsors and supporters. These items often include unique experiences, artwork, collectibles, and practical goods, appealing to a broad audience and encouraging competitive bidding.
The event’s success not only hinges on the generosity of donors but also on the collaborative spirit of the community rallying behind a common cause.
